7 Before [Zion] travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came upon her, she was delivered of a male child. 8 Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children. 9 Shall I bring to the [moment of] birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.
One of my most pleasant memories is the time I spent in the Christian Parenting Classes in the Household of God. I was there for 10 years. We used to teach the women from today’s scripture. They usually started the classes with all the negative information about having babies from both science and older relatives like mothers and aunties.
We saw them transform before our eyes as we taught them that giving birth does not have to be such a painful ordeal. We could see the fear, especially with first time mums. They would eventually come back to tell their stories of God’s goodness to them as they gave birth to their babies. They would tell of short and painless labour. It was amazing. We heard these stories again and again.
Every time, you are on the verge of achieving something, it can be compared to giving birth. Sometimes you put all the effort you can muster and yet you’re not getting the desired results. It becomes frustrating because you need to bring forth your dreams, your goals, your desires. But it is not happening. What could be more heart rending?
But His word to us makes it clear that we can bring forth without labor or travail. Travail is a strong word. It suggests anguish. In fact the Oxford Advanced learner’s dictionary describes it as severe pain, mental suffering or unhappiness. While labour means to try very hard to do something difficult, or to do hard physical work. Struggling and striving too hard is not God’s plan for us. Because He will not bring us to the time of birth and then shut the womb and make it impossible for us to give birth to our goals. He is not a task master. That is not His nature.
Your dreams and desires which emanate from His Spirit who lives in you will be brought forth in record time. He will help you. He will make it easy for you. Before pain, anguish and despair come, you will experience your miracle.
Tell yourself, I will bring forth my dreams and desires without labour. I will not struggle. I will not strive. I will bring forth with ease. Say it confidently, because you believe it. That is God’s divine intention for you. He will never bring to the time for results then close the door. Trust Him. Ck
