Resilience, the Key to Success in Life.
I am no longer as long as I used to be. I have decided that my life will be purposeful and on target. IF I decide to achieve something, then I must achieve it. If I have taken the time to pray and understand it then I will not allow anything stand in my way, including myself. I need to be resilient and persevering to get to my promised land.
So what do we need to do to become resilient people of faith? First, we must have assurance in our hearts that we are not alone. Remember as kids how we were more confident in facing opponents when we had our big brothers with us. That is what I am talking about. We are never alone as people of faith. The author of our faith is always with us. He never leaves. He is closer than your very breath. So we must persevere because He that is with us requires that we stay the courses of our issues to come through for us. If we chicken out, it is our loss because He was right there to work it out. Remember who He is. He is our champion Lion; He is our rock, our strength, our fortress, lover of our souls, the redeemer and everlasting Savior. He is always with us. He never leaves. That should give us the confidence to persevere.
Realizing God is with you is one thing but staying close to Him is another thing. He is our life source. Outside of Him there is just how far we can go. He is the vine, we are the branches. Outside of Him we cannot do anything important. We must have a positive outlook as we focus on our goals. Think positive good thoughts. No matter what is happening. They have a way of transforming the circumstances to our favour. Your thoughts must be wholesome, motivating, true and pure. So we must fine tune our goals with wholesome thoughts. That is where we get the energy to follow through to our desires.
What does the Jonny Walker advert say? ‘Keep walking’. Don’t look back, just keep going. If that person did not pick your call, give it a little time and call again. If the rejected your idea, try somewhere else, or try again. Just keep walking. Don’t allow anything to stop you. Keep walking and you will walk on water. You will walk on clouds. You will reach your destination. Keep Walking. Don’t give up. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Try that marriage again. Look for another job. Try that business again, just keep at life do not give up. Don’t let circumstances, your short comings, your inadequacies, your adversaries, your failures stop you. Just keep walking.
No matter what you experience this year, resolve in your heart to be strong and courageous like God told Joshua. Don’t allow fear of the giants in your life to make you cower. Never run from the enemy, rather confront him. He will flee from you. Remember you have a heavenly Father who is committed to blessing you. He loves you more than you’ll ever know. Just stay with Him and He will be right there through it all. He is faithful and will never let you down. He says in His word, ‘No one’s ever seen or heard anything quite like it-what God has arranged for those who love Him. He also says, I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for’, the year you hope for.
Resilience must become our way of life. We have an enemy whom we need to wear out. He is resilient. He never stops, why should we? We must not stop until we see our desires come alive. Until, the Word becomes flesh. Then we can live the lives God has called us to.
Sometimes I ask myself why God allows all the stress. I realize that every stress situation we go through makes us more like God, in strength, character and purpose. We just become better for all the resilience we exercise. It is all good. Let us tighten our belts for 2015. Resilience and perseverance are crucial to our success. Have a great 2015.
